About

Following a successful international career in professional fitness and dance education, Donna Simmons graduated in 1993 from the Berkeley Movement Studies Institute Guild Certified Feldenkrais Professional Training, in San Rafael California. She also is an FGNA Certified Assistant Trainer. She holds a JFK Graduate School of Holistic Studies degree from the Department of Holistic Health., and is a registered Movement Educator and Therapist.

In addition to her Feldenkrais Method® training, she is trained in CranioSacral Therapy, Interpersonal Neurobiology (Dr. Dan Siegel, Mindsight Institute), Interactive Guided Imagery, and Mindfulness.

She has taught in training programs in Switzerland and in the US and maintains a private practice in Mill Valley, California focused on Functional Integration®. As a Guild Certified Assistant Trainer, she teaches in undergraduate training programs, post-graduate training programs as well as providing on-going mentoring. She is active in the North American and International Feldenkrais communities, serving on several committees including the North American Training Accreditation Board (NATAB) and the Ethics Committee.

Originally a teacher of dance and exercise, Donna has been a movement educator for nearly 40 years. She works with individuals at all stages of life. Her client list has included athletes, contractors, musicians, and dancers as well as desk jockeys, performing artists, aerialists, and flight attendants. She accepts orthopedic, neurological and psychological referrals.

Donna is fluent in English, French, Spanish and, to a lesser degree, German and Japanese.
